Writing a Good Blog
We all love to read a good blog, and why? Because it’s
attractive by content headline and body. Not for the beauty of it as it appears
by design, though not taking anything away from a well thought out layout, but
mostly the value endowed with in it.
I am a strong believer that blog writing will never die even
with the advent of AI as an alternative content creator. The human spin on
every blog will always be a fascinating feel for every reader, so DO not sit on your God given
writing creativity.
We Just have to harness it, nurture it, groom it and polish
it even more in order to preserve the humane aspect.
But for the sake of driving my point home, how often do we
think of value content versus volume content?
Come to think of it! before we think of a good blog, here is
usually the first thought that will creep in mind "The dreadful crave for money” don’t quote me wrong here, money is
beautiful when you have it, but what makes it even more enjoyable to have it, is
the value attached to the service from which it was derived, don’t you agree?
If you do, then lets scratch that entire surface for all its
worth.
·
Always budget ample time to spend on your blog,
here is the WHY; you are creating value content for your would be
readers and you wouldn’t like a backlash from your target audience simply
because you did not spend enough time to prepare a worth readable post loaded
with beneficial and educative content.
·
Think of what’s in it for your audience, not
what in it for you FIRST. This will drive a selfless written blog that any
reader including yourself will always love to read. Alienate yourself as the
reader but not the writer doing this, and in the end this will kick starts a
long awaited crave for your posts effortless.
·
Be creative and original: Your audience will
love to read something fresh and well thought out as opposed to reading some
copy and pasted material from a familiar source. Take it like having the same menu day in day out, it
will eventually kill the appetite.
·
Be patient and consistent because every long
journey starts with one step, otherwise we wouldn’t hear that old “Rome wasn’t
built in one day” quote. It is also important to enjoy what you write before
thinking of monetizing your blog, that way writing becomes more of second
nature than the former.
·
Take
advantage of your phone’s notepad
Often in time we stumble on untimely
killer ideas to fill a few gaps within our blogs, but away from our workstations and
we forget that our phone's notepads are there to back us up as tentative emergency storage
sources, hence losing a powerful spice and spin to add to our blog posts.
·
Always
look into your email out box
All you need to do is make a quarry out of
sent email list. What you didn’t realize is the fact that you and others in your small email businesses are blogging away crucial content on a daily basis which lies in there. I know you just
don’t comprehend it as blogging but all those under-looked ideas you share with
each other are babies of a very eligible blog post.
·
Plan how to drive traffic to your blog: This
means that every post will require traction from your target audience via email
marketing, social media, or search engine optimization.
Here are some of the ways to make
sure your blog posts are read.
1.
Use those email subject lines and keywords
through hashtags which have become common place all over social media in every
post you make.
2.
Use topics from niches that promote themselves,
for example; "making money online” These
usually are loaded with promotional tactics.
3.
Collaborating with other bloggers and influencers as partners is
another powerful tool to promote your blog. This can ensue through email interviews.
4.
Guest blogging:
Always try to publish on other websites as this will easily make your
content visible through the audience of another blog. One thing you need to
embrace is, today’s day and era blog competition has become necessary evil.
5.
Always have that blog link to your finger tips
in any content you need to share with your potential audience, be it on social
media or email. And the next opportunity you get to answer a question to
anyone, don’t do it via email. But if you are tempted to, add the link to your
email signature. That way they’ll always be a click away from your next
published content on your blog.
6.
The use of special keywords; In your blog you can use all the common keywords you see
with positive results on social media. This can improve your SEO on your site.
Just a final food for thought: For a strong and prominent
visibility as a blogger who is starting out, aim at a minimum of over 18 value
content blog posts with at least 600+ words on your site.
In a nutshell, consider all the small hacks in life you give as passive advice to your counterparts via any media, to be valuable streams of content for your
blog readers. So don’t underestimate good advice folks, and remember to put a
good plan on how to drive traffic to all your posts for a sustainable writing
goal.
